Hello Pulp Friends,

Let's start a new year of pulp goodness with a double cover post that we can safely title: "Family Business" :)
Above is the cover for issue 12 of Matt Wagner's Green hornet Year One, which concludes the second arc of this critically acclaimed tale of the first year of operation of the GH and Kato.
And to keep it in the "family" the second cover (below) is for Green Hornet's gran gran pa: The Lone Ranger, here in the first crossover with another favorite of mine (and yours): Zorro.

The crossover is a 4 issue mini written by Ande Parks and titled, sadly, "Death of Zorro". Don Diego is here in his late 60s and will ask for Lone Ranger help when things go bad.
Since Dynamite solicited the book, I read a lot of people thinking this mini means no more ZORRO YEAR ONE.
No worries, this is a completely different story, and last time I talked with Matt, he is still planning to pick up from were we left in issue 14. Zorro Year One is on hiatus but is not over :)

Have a wonderful Pulp Sunday everyone :)

Cheers,
Francesco

Ah, I see now your New Year "sneak preview" post included the Lone Ranger/Zorro mini and not the last issue of Lone Ranger--which is even better as it probably means more contributions. Thank you for the updates, very much appreciated. Especially regarding Green Hornet Year One--I am only now devouring the first volume and greatly enjoying. The quality of Matt Wagner's writing goes without saying, but Aaron Campbell's art is a wonderful surprise and with your coloring and finish makes it pop to life! But a Zorro Year One would be magnificent. The Zorro run you two completed is one of the best stories told (always in the eye of the beholder, I know, so I can only call it as I see it). Very excited to hear of a possible run of Zorro Year One. And Black Panther is this week--life is very good in the comic world.

Oops. As I was saying, I don't buy comics just for the covers...but for you I can make exceptions. Amazing work!

Agreed. Am looking to buy the Kato Origins series, but am looking to procure the series with the Francesco Francavilla covers. Probably wouldn't buy otherwise, but it looks good and the covers seal the deal.

Fantastic work, as always. You're one of my favorite artists in the biz right now. If I ever manage to break in as a writer, you're at the top of my list of artists I want to work with. Keep up the amazing work.

If you get the trade paperback, it'll have Francesco's covers (hopefully sans type)included!
